The Douglas County Huskies lost against the ThunderRidge Grizzlies back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Douglas County took a hard 47-33 fall against ThunderRidge. Douglas County has not had much luck with ThunderRidge recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sofia Baldessari, who scored 14 points along with four steals. That was a full 42.4% of Douglas County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ciara Laman, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
ThunderRidge was led to victory by Alexis Baker and Chloe Parker. Baker scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Parker scored 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Becca Winton, who scored four points along with four steals.
Douglas County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for ThunderRidge, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas County will take on Chaparral at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chaparral focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for ThunderRidge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
