Having just played yesterday, the Auburn Maroons will get right back to it and host the Elmira Express at 6:45 p.m. on February 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New York (Auburn is ranked 209th, while Elmira is ranked 204th).
Back in January, Auburn ended up a good deal behind Baldwinsville and lost 70-52.
Meanwhile, Elmira entered their tilt with Corning-Painted Post with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Elmira enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over Corning-Painted Post on Thursday.
Elmira's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mariah Matias, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Ellie Clearwater, who scored 20 points along with six steals. Matias is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Wagner, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Elmira, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.
