Marshwood is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Thornton Academy is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hawks will welcome the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Marshwood's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Westbrook as they made off with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Hawks have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ronan Garrett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Silas Reimels was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Sbrizza, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Marshwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Thornton Academy had just enough and edged out Noble 10-9 on Wednesday.
Like Marshwood, Thornton Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Jacob Fish. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fish was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other pitching news, Thornton Academy got a great performance from Ben Indorf as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.
Back at the plate, Cam Cyr and Colton Cross did most of the damage at the plate: Cyr went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Cross went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Cross' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brennan Tabor, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Thornton Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 9-1-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Marshwood, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Marshwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Thornton Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Marshwood couldn't quite get it done against Thornton Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
