We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Millard is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past North Sevier 25-8 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Macie Wade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emily Stephenson was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Jansie Chlarson was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Millard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Duchesne got the win against Grand County on Friday by a conclusive 16-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Lorisa Mower was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Mower was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Duchesne let Prezley Farnsworth and Claire Anderton run wild. Farnsworth went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Anderton scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Anderton also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jessa Farnsworth, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Millard's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 6.67 strikeouts in those games compared to only 2.9 in the others. As for Duchesne, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Millard hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Duchesne struggles in that department as they've averaged .411. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Millard couldn't quite get it done against Duchesne when the teams last played back in May of 2022 as they fell 5-0. Will Millard have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
