The Lincoln Lions and the Eastside Ghosts will face off at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Eastside is ranked 26th).
Lincoln suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Elizabeth at home and fell 52-22. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lincoln in their matchups with Elizabeth: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Eastside waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They blew past Kennedy 52-30. Eastside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Eastside, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Lincoln came out on top in a nail-biter against Eastside in their previous meeting back in February of 2017, sneaking past 30-27. Does Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eastside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
