The Chaminade-Madonna Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their fifth straight  defeat. They took a serious blow against NSU University, falling  58-23. Chaminade-Madonna was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  35-8.
 Despite the  loss, Chaminade-Madonna had strong showings from  Jasmine Horne, who  dropped  a double-double on 11 points and ten  rebounds, and  Ana sofia Laszewski, who  scored 12 points along with five  rebounds and two  steals. That was a full 47.8% of Chaminade-Madonna's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points.
 NSU University found their leader in underclassman  Tatum Billie, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 24 points and nine  steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which  Billie has scored at least a third of NSU University's points.  Giselle Grant was another key contributor,  scoring 22 points along with six  assists and two  steals.
 Chaminade-Madonna dropped their record down to 1-9 with that  loss, which was their ninth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for NSU University, their win  ended a three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 10-13.
 Chaminade-Madonna will square off against the Sharks at TBD on Monday. NSU University is on the road again  on Wednesday and plays the Lions on February 7th. Westminster Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Sharks in Florida (the Lions are ranked 32nd, while the Sharks are ranked 290th).
