The Atherton Ravens will square off against the Assumption Rockets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Atherton's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Assumption has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Atherton and Fairdale had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Ravens blew past the Bulldogs 16-3 on Monday. The Ravens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Atherton got a massive performance out of Izzy Cummins, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. What's more, Cummins posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Harris, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Atherton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Assumption faced Scott County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rockets lost 11-2 to the Cardinals. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Rockets couldn't push the score so high this time.
Assumption saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maleya Giddens, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Tessa Dillon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Assumption's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Atherton, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
