Covington had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Berwick Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2017.

Covington pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Berwick, they moved to 5-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions face off against the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Berwick, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-3 victory against Bourgeois on the 1st.
