Mount Everett Regional got themselves on the board against McCann Tech on Friday, but McCann Tech never followed suit. They blew past the Hornets 17-0. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Matt Lowe and Brodie Kinna were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lowe didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Kinna tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Lowe scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Kinna scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jacob Kreis was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was JJ Schneider, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Mount Everett Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCann Tech only posted an OBP of .167.

Mount Everett Regional has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.5 runs this season. As for McCann Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Everett Regional will square off against Lenox Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCann Tech, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Drury at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
