Softball Game Preview: Corona del Sol Aztecs vs. Millennium Tigers

For the second straight game, Corona del Sol will face off against Millennium. The Aztecs will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Tigers at 3:45 p.m. Corona del Sol is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Corona del Sol had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Millennium on Tuesday. The Aztecs blew past the Tigers 9-3. The victory continues a trend for the Aztecs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Corona del Sol let Ellison Locke and Miquela Tammaro run wild. Locke went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Tammaro scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three RBI gave Locke a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jami Sheehan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Corona del Sol kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
