There's no place like home for the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Jupiter Christian on Friday as Calvary Christian Academy made off with a 51-28 victory. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Calvary Christian Academy did.
Calvary Christian Academy was led to victory by Teagan Wakefield and Taryn Wakefield. Wakefield scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals, while Wakefield scored 14 points along with three steals. Wakefield has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Laynie Redman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Jupiter Christian saw an underclassman step up: Addison Simmons dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Simmons hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Calvary Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-13. As for Jupiter Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Calvary Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against Ransom Everglades at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Calvary Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for Jupiter Christian, they and Leonard will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
