Baseball Game Preview: Silver Bluff Bulldogs vs. Strom Thurmond Rebels

The Silver Bluff Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Strom Thurmond Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Silver Bluff is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Silver Bluff took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Midland Valley 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 26, 2025.

Timmy Hicks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tanner Sullivan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Silver Bluff: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-12 otherwise. Everything went Silver Bluff's way against Strom Thurmond in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Silver Bluff made off with an 11-4 win.
