Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Caston

Caston lost to Taylor back in May of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Comets were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Titans. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won eight matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Carson Harness was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Harness was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Gavin Mollenkopf was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Parker Zimpleman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Caston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taylor only posted a batting average of .091.

Caston's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-19.

Caston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 win against West Central on the 29th. As for Taylor, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-0 loss against Tipton on the 28th.
