The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers won the last time they faced the Winnebago Indians, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Bancroft-Rosalie came out on top against Winnebago by a score of 62-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bancroft-Rosalie.
Bancroft-Rosalie was led to victory by Makenna James and Samryn Dick. James scored six points along with 11 steals and five rebounds, while Dick scored 19 points along with three steals. Dick has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Kairece Morris was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Winnebago's loss came despite strong showings from Jolon Blackbird and Charlize Frenchman. Blackbird scored 20 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Frenchman scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blackbird has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tressa BigBear, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Bancroft-Rosalie pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Winnebago, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bancroft-Rosalie will take on Winside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winside has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. As for Winnebago, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hartington-Newcastle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hartington-Newcastle and Winnebago are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
