The Port Clinton Redskins came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Edison with a sharp 59-38 victory. With Port Clinton ahead 30-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ivy kluding. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Jorja Byington was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
Port Clinton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Edison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Port Clinton will be playing in front of their home fans against Gibsonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gibsonburg is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Edison, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroeville at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Monroeville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
