The Manchester Red Hawks can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Windham, posting a 91-58 win at home. Given Manchester's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Windham is ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Manchester to victory were Jayveon Robinson and Derrick Sheets. Robinson dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 16 rebounds, and ten assists, while Sheets scored 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sheets has scored all season. Will Oden-Tann was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Windham lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tahj Jones, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcolm Hunter, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Manchester's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Windham, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Manchester will head out on the road to face off against East Hartford at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. East Hartford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Manchester likes a good challenge. As for Windham, they will be playing at home against St. Bernard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
