The East Central Hornets pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Wagner 64-59. East Central has not had much luck with Wagner recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Loss or not, East Central got some senior leadership from Jacob Stewart who scored 16 points and Jestin Dotson who scored 10 points. The matchup was Stewart's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Christopher Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 2 points.
Wagner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daimen Ramirez led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Rice, who scored 16 points.
East Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Wagner, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
East Central will look to defend their home court on December 11th against TMI-Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. Wagner's road trip will continue as they head out to face ThunderRidge at 5:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
