The Raytown Bluejays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 64-16 loss at the hands of Grandview. While losing is never fun, Raytown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Grandview is ranked 77th).
When it comes to explaining why Raytown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jada Smith. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with three steals.
Lariah Tucker was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six assists and four steals for Grandview. Another player making a difference was Micah Kirkwood, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Raytown has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Grandview, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raytown will take on Raytown South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grandview won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Truman at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th.
