Greer has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Greenville Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Greer walked away with it. They slipped by Indian Land 29-28 on Friday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Greer was the better team in the second half.
Meanwhile, Greenville put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past South Aiken 63-7 at home. With Greenville ahead 56-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rashad Robinson, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Kylar Zimmerman also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Greer now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Greenville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Greer ended up a good deal behind Greenville when the teams last played back in October of 2021, losing 42-28. Thankfully for Greer, Prometheus "qb1" franklin ii (who threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in three touchdowns on the ground) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
