Glenelg and Reservoir are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Glenelg Gladiators will face off against the Reservoir 'Gators at TBD on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
On Friday, Glenelg was the victim of a rough 64-39 loss at the hands of Atholton. While losing is never fun, Glenelg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Atholton is ranked 61st).
Meanwhile, Reservoir's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Carver Vo-Tech, falling 63-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Reservoir has scored all season.
Glenelg's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Reservoir, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.
Glenelg strolled past Reservoir in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 48-33. Will Glenelg repeat their success, or does Reservoir have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
