Sunnyslope has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Xavier College Prep Gators at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Monday, Sunnyslope was fully in charge, breezing past Mountain View 66-26 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-18.
It was another big night for Teagan McIlroy , who scored 16 points along with six steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. Amelia Mickelson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Xavier College Prep put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Chandler 68-42. Given Xavier College Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Chandler is ranked 31st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sunnyslope is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Xavier College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
