The Belleview Rattlers will take on the Forest Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Belleview is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
On Tuesday, Belleview earned a 4-1 victory over Lake Weir.
Ya'Mari Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Belleview's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Cobb, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Ally Axe was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Forest made easy work of North Marion on Monday and carried off a 16-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.
Reagan Quinn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Quinn was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 11 contests.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaiden Prestipino, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Mahri Lingle, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Belleview's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Forest, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Belleview suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Forest in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Rattlers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
