The South Central Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Northeastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South Central comes in on seven and Northeastern on six.
South Central put the finishing touches on their 16th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 81-27 victory over New Bern at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-12.
Sabraya Baker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Niyani Mayo, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Northeastern didn't have too much trouble with Hertford County on the road on Friday as they won 53-38. Northeastern pushed the score to 43-22 by the end of the third, a deficit Hertford County cut but never quite recovered from.
South Central's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Northeastern, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
South Central took their victory against Northeastern in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 67-45. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Northeastern's Jasmine Felton, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will South Central still be able to contain Felton? There's only one way to find out.
