The Roma Gladiators are taking a road trip to challenge the Palmview Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Roma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with 13 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Roma turned things around against Martin on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers 15-5. The Gladiators not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12, 2024.

Madelyn Garcia was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aitzaely Garcia, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Garcia wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Roma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for Roma: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.2.
Meanwhile, Palmview was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mission, sneaking past 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.
Abigail Cantu spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Sydney Salinas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marina Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Palmview's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Roma, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.
Roma's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. Roma has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Palmview, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Roma continue to outrun the ball?
Roma might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Palmview when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Roma avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
