Even though the Lowellville Rockets have not done well against the McDonald Blue Devils recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Lowellville walked away with a 50-40 win over McDonald. For Lowellville, this counts as revenge for the 35-31 loss McDonald walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Lowellville can attribute much of their success to Serinna Tych, who scored 21 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Willrich , who scored ten points along with three steals.
Lowellville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for McDonald, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowellville will challenge Columbiana at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for McDonald, they will head out on the road to face off against Mineral Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
