The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. College Prep & Leadership Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cornerstone Charter, who comes in off a win.
Cornerstone Charter is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since November 14, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Phoenix Academy 69-66.

Cornerstone Charter can attribute much of their success to Lake Bristol, who went 9 for 12 on his way to 25 points and six rebounds, and Tyler Smith, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Bristol a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Sorrels, who posted 11 points.
Cornerstone Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, College Prep & Leadership Academy came up short against Grimsley on Saturday and fell 55-46. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Royals came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Whirlies are ranked 232nd).
Cornerstone Charter will have to contain Robert Knotts as he made an impact in College Prep & Leadership Academy's last game. He went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points. Knotts' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Mckenzie, who put up seven points.
College Prep & Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Cornerstone Charter, their record now sits at 8-4.
Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Cornerstone Charter just can't miss this season, having made 49.2% of their shots per game. However, it's not like College Prep & Leadership Academy struggles in that department as they've nailed 48.3% of their field goals this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Cornerstone Charter was taken down by College Prep & Leadership Academy 87-20 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Cornerstone Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
