The Sam Houston Texans suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 81-60 defeat at the hands of Haltom. Haltom had a senior duo take command as Kuol Atak scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks and Da'Aquarius Barnes scored 26 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Atak has scored at least a third of Haltom's points. Ashton Moore was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Sam Houston has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Haltom, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.
Sam Houston will head out on the road to square off against Grand Prairie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haltom, they will be playing at home against South Grand Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Grand Prairie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 294 points over their last four matchups.
