Basketball Game Preview: Liberty County Bulldogs vs. Altha Wildcats

Liberty County is 2-8 against Altha since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Liberty County Bulldogs will host the Altha Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Altha is hoping to do what Aucilla Christian couldn't on Monday: put an end to Liberty County's winning streak, which now stands at seven games. Liberty County put the hurt on Aucilla Christian with a sharp 76-53 win. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Warriors are ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kashon Chambers was his usual excellent self, putting up 25 points. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gustavo Rubio, who posted 13 points.

While Altha didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Wakulla Christian School 70-38 on Thursday.

Liberty County's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Altha, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Things could have been worse for Liberty County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-52 loss to Altha in their previous matchup back in January.
