They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pleasant Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Pleasant Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ashton Benson and Trevor Chesonis. Pleasant Valley got some further help from James Stapp: he picked up a sack, made 15 total tackles, and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Enterprise was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 35-12 to Red Bluff. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.
Although Enterprise took the loss, they still got scores from Trason Fuller and Izaiah Mikell.
Even if they lost, Enterprise's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. Ethan Michael refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Pleasant Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Enterprise, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Andrus and Koby Johnson. Andrus just won't slow down this season and has run in 16 touchdowns while averaging 171.1 rushing yards per game. Johnson has been a dominant force too and has averaged 153 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Pleasant Valley against Enterprise in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 47-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
