Baseball Recap: Mitchell Wins Going Away Against Bethel Christian Academy

While Mitchell put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Bethel Christian Academy. The Mountaineers were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Crusaders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.

The team relied heavily on Sam Jones, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Kaden Buchanan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mitchell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Mitchell now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coming up, Mitchell will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Freedom at 4:30 p.m. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Mountain View Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.43 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
