Somerset Sky Pointe has been on the road for six straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Thursday, Somerset Sky Pointe had to suffer through a rough 85-33 loss at the hands of Clark. Somerset Sky Pointe was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-21.
Despite the loss, Somerset Sky Pointe saw an underclassman step up: Emmitt Bell scored 18 points. Bell scored a full 54.5% of Somerset Sky Pointe's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cory Gory, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Doral Academy Red Rock, who are still winless after their fifth game. Their tough 76-56 loss to Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Their wins bumped Somerset Sky Pointe to 2-6 and Clark to 4-1.
