Softball Recap: North Greene Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

North Greene and South Greene faced off in a cross-town battle on Monday. The Huskies blew past the Rebels 9-2. Considering the Huskies have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was North Greene's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for South Greene, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Greene will venture away from home to face off against Chuckey-Doak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Black Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.82 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Greene, they will challenge Hampton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
