Basketball Recap: Putnam Science Academy Takes Down Ranked Broome Street Academy

Putnam Science Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Broome Street Academy. Putnam Science Academy slipped by the Broome Street Academy Warriors 92-91. The victory was familiar territory for Putnam Science Academy, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Despite the loss, Broome Street Academy still got an impressive performance from Andre Wright, who en route to 31 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Wright has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Samuel Acevedo was another key player, to rack up 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Putnam Science Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 94.0 points over those games. As for Broome Street Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-13.
