It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Bogalusa Lumberjacks can now relate to. They fell to the Farmers 28-22. Bogalusa's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Bogalusa still got an impressive performance from Ashton Levi, who threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Jackson jr., who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Union Parish's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Hill , who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Hill was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Jy?marion Island, who rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Union Parish's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Charles Kendricks and his two sacks.
Bogalusa's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Union Parish, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Bogalusa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Union Parish will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jena. Jena is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
