The Woodlands Academy Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 41-22 fall against Chicago University. While losing is never fun, Woodlands Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while Chicago University is ranked 211th).
Woodlands Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Regan Stewart, who scored nine points, and Abigail Hironimus who scored no points along with seven rebounds. Stewart scored a full 40.9% of Woodlands Academy's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Woodlands Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Chicago University, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Woodlands Academy will head out on the road to face off against Walther Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Walther Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. Chicago University won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Willows Academy at 5:15 p.m. on December 13th. Willows Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
