The Bethany Christian Bruins were the 41-34 winner over the Bremen Lions when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bethany Christian fell just short of Bremen by a score of 50-47. Bethany Christian has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Despite the loss, Bethany Christian still got an impressive performance from Zoe Willems, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Willems' 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Karlee Crume, who scored 11 points.
Bremen's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kila Foster, who scored 20 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Foster has scored at least 25% of Bremen's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Grubbs, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Bethany Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Bremen, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Bethany Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Bend Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. South Bend Career Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last 14 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Bremen, they will head out on the road to face off against Elkhart at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
