The Concord Yellowjackets entered their tilt with the Athens Indians with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Concord strolled past Athens with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-33. For Concord, this counts as revenge for the 62-31 loss Athens walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Concord found their leader in underclassman Bradie Lehman, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Lehman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cieara Barrett, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Concord's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Athens, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord will challenge Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Concord is facing Sand Creek at the right time seeing as Sand Creek is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Athens, they will head out on the road to challenge Quincy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
