It was a good run, but the Hartsburg-Emden Stags unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 78-68 to Tri-City. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), Hartsburg-Emden still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Hartsburg-Emden had strong showings from Evan Cross, who scored 36 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Jace Whitted, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cross has scored all season. Peyton Swinford was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Hartsburg-Emden's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Tri-City, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-19.
Hartsburg-Emden's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Tri-City, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th.
