Monrovia entered their tilt with Greencastle on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They breezed by the Greencastle Tiger Cubs to the tune of 62-33. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monrovia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emery Newlin, who went 10 for 12 on her way to 21 points and six assists. Zoie Walls was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten rebounds and five steals.
Newlin wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Monrovia was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greencastle only racked up eight assists.
When it comes to explaining why Greencastle lost, don't look at Bailey Brown. Despite the final result, she posted seven points and ten boards. Brown has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Lilly Franklin also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.
Monrovia's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game.
