The Nanih Waiya Warriors had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 51-14 victory over Carroll Academy. Considering Nanih Waiya has won seven games by more than 20 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nyshea Hoskin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Nanih Waiya's points. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Hickman, who scored nine points.
Nanih Waiya's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Carroll Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Nanih Waiya won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kirk Academy at 1:15 p.m. on December 28th. Kirk Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Nanih Waiya likes a good challenge. Carroll Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oak Hill Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 16, 2024.
