With a playoff game on the line, Princeton rose to the challenge  on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Mt. Vernon Wildcats  5-3. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Princeton.
  Raegan Etolen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned runs off   five  hits. Etolen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. Etolen was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with a  triple and two  RBI.
 Etolen wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kimberlyn Wood, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.  Kyah Marsh was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 On Mt. Vernon's side,  Alaina Allyn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks.
 Princeton is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-10-1 record  this season. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
 As of now, neither Princeton nor Mt. Vernon have any future games scheduled.
