Andrews is 2-8 against Hayesville since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Andrews Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Hayesville Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. Hayesville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Andrews, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Andrews earned a 60-51 victory over Murphy.
Andrews' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Rattler, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. Rattler has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty Clark, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Hayesville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They lost to Robbinsville at home by a decisive 65-51 margin. Hayesville has struggled against Robbinsville recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Andrews' victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Hayesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Andrews was able to grind out a solid victory over Hayesville when the teams last played back in January, winning 58-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Andrews since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
