The St. Francis Red Raiders pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-59 to Jamestown. While losing is never fun, St. Francis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 19th).
Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Neely, who scored 18 points. Neely hasn't dropped below 17 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Bienko, who scored ten points.
This is the second loss in a row for St. Francis and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Jamestown, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
St. Francis will head out on the road to square off against the Gaelic Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Bishop Ludden has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 197 points over their last three matchups. As for Jamestown, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Spartans at 7:45 p.m.
