The Wilmot Panthers will square off against the Antioch Sequoits at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
On Thursday, Wilmot didn't have quite enough to beat Union Grove and fell 2-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chance Ruby was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Ruby wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Preston Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Antioch, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Grant Community 3-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sequoits have posted against the Bulldogs since May 4, 2023.
Antioch also got a great performance from Carson Young as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Young has posted since April 1st.
On the hitting side, Evan Schmidt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Nathan Yeager, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Antioch pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wilmot, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wilmot has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Antioch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
