It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Edon Bombers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past Lakewood Park Christian with a 55-51 win. The win was some much needed relief for Edon as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery MacFarlane, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. MacFarlane is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Mason Jolloff was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Edon's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Edon will be home for the holidays to greet Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
