The Towers Titans will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Redan Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Redan took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Towers, who comes in off a win.
Even though Callaway scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, Towers still came out on top. Towers snuck past Callaway with a 75-69 win.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jalen Kelly and DeShun Coleman. Kelly had a great game and scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Meanwhile, Coleman was balling out in the loss, scoring 26 points along with six assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Redan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 69-53 bruising from Callaway.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Zion Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jamir Brown, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Towers' victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Redan, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Towers have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Redan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Towers and Redan were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but Towers came up empty-handed after a 46-45 defeat. Can Towers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
