On Friday, The East Meadow Jets got themselves on the board against the Westbury Green Dragons, but the Westbury Green Dragons never followed suit. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over the Green Dragons. The result was nothing new for East Meadow, who have now won four matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.
Matt Rodriguez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 95 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Jayson Costabile, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown.
The win (which was East Meadow's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points per game. As for Westbury, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Meadow will face off against Hicksville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hicksville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 426th, while East Meadow is ranked 80th). As for Westbury, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
