West Las Vegas is 8-2 against Raton since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The West Las Vegas Dons will head out on the road to challenge the Raton Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
West Las Vegas can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They strolled past Sandia Prep with points to spare, taking the game 63-48.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Las Vegas to victory, but perhaps none more so than P.j. Montano, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Montano continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Devaughn Kensey was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though St. Michael's scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Raton still came out on top. Raton secured a 61-56 W over St. Michael's. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Raton.
West Las Vegas' victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Raton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.
West Las Vegas came out on top in a nail-biter against Raton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 59-56. Does West Las Vegas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Raton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
