There's no place like home for the Tradition Prep Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They managed a 69-63 victory over Somerset College Prep Academy on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tradition Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yve Montesir, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Montesir continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Christian Arisi was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Tradition Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, they bumped their record down to 5-10 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Tradition Prep will face off against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset College Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sebastian River at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Sebastian River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
