The Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Larimore. The victory was just what Drayton/Valley-Edinburg needed coming off of a 77-50 loss in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why Larimore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michael Myers. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. Myers hasn't dropped below 15 rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Baron Burns, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Drayton/Valley-Edinburg's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Larimore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drayton/Valley-Edinburg will square off against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Midway/Minto has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Larimore, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Dakota (Griggs County Central/Midkota is ranked 89th, while the Polar Bears are ranked 64th).
